Grade 6 camp to Parnassus
Our Grade 6 camp to Parnassus, just outside Magaliesburg, was filled with laughter, muddy adventures and wonderful moments of growth for the girls.
The excitement began the moment we boarded the bus. Between cheerful chatter and plenty of hearty snacks, the journey flew by. On arrival at camp, the girls were warmly welcomed by an energetic team of leaders from Lead4Life, whose enthusiasm immediately set the tone for the adventure ahead.
The first day was packed with engaging leadership activities designed to help the girls discover more about themselves and connect with their groups on a deeper level. Through a variety of fun and thoughtful challenges, they began building trust, learning to listen to one another and recognising the unique strengths each member brought to the team.
After what can only be described as a mischievous night of laughter, late-night whispers and little sleep, day two began with a hike up the mountain. The beautiful surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for a day of teamwork. The girls worked together to solve problems, complete group challenges and support one another along the way. The obstacle course brought a few nerve-wracking moments, but with determination and plenty of encouragement, the girls pushed through and gave it their all.
Throughout the camp, everyone was well fuelled with delicious meals and treats, keeping spirits high and energy levels up. The highlight for many was the bonfire on the final evening. Sitting together under the stars, sharing stories and laughter around the fire, was the perfect way to celebrate the friendships and memories formed during their time at Parnassus.
On our final morning, we travelled to Maropeng where the girls explored the fascinating story of human evolution through interactive exhibits and engaging activities. It was a wonderful way to round off an already unforgettable trip.
Our time together was filled with opportunities to build relationships, make new friends and strengthen our ability to collaborate as a team. We returned home happily exhausted, carrying bags full of muddy clothes, hearts full of laughter and memories, with many girls looking forward to a long, relaxing bubble bath after their adventurous camp.
