Growing Tomorrow’s Leaders – One Vision Board at a Time
The Grade 4 and 5 girls recently embraced the opportunity to reflect on their personal growth and leadership potential by creating 2025 vision boards based on The Leader in Me programme. This internationally recognised framework, inspired by Stephen Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, has been adapted for children to help them develop leadership skills, responsibility, resilience, and a strong sense of self.
In our school, we focus on all 7 Habits and next year we will be looking at the original seven and including the important eighth: Find Your Voice and Inspire Others to Find Theirs. Each vision board was a creative expression of how the girls see themselves applying these habits in their daily lives – at school, at home, and in the wider community. With pictures, words, and meaningful symbols, they visualised their goals and reflected on what it means to be a leader from the inside out. It was a powerful and inspiring journey of self-discovery that helped them take ownership of their learning and character development.
