Grade 4 Reading Celebration

The Grade 4s recently completed their first literature study, Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo. This heartwarming story follows Opal and her lovable dog, Winn-Dixie, as they discover the true meaning of friendship, kindness and belonging.

To celebrate finishing the novel, the girls enjoyed watching the film adaptation on Friday, 17 July. They also shared a delightful tea party inspired by the story, complete with dog-themed decorations, delicious treats and drinks, and even some "Litmus Lozenges" like the characters enjoy in the book. A special highlight was Mr Evans entertaining everyone by playing his guitar, just as music brings people together in the story. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the joy of reading and bring a much-loved book to life.
