S(cience)T(echnology)E(ngineering)A(rt)M(athematics) Week 2026
Our main curriculum goal is to prepare our students for the workforce they will enter into one day. They will need skills beyond memorising facts and achieving high scores. They will have to show innovation, be able to collaborate and adapt and this is why our STEAM Week is so important.
Once again STEAM Week saw our students breaking down the silos of traditional teaching. Weaving together creativity and analytical skills and producing an excellent showcase of their thoughts. From Grade 4 using dots as a theme and learning and creating through exploration and play to the Grade 5s who hopped on the Mars space exploration station and creatively found solutions to ensure life on Mars will be possible to the Grade 6s who made pop up storybooks for the Grade 1s and learnt about planning and spatial orientation. The Grade 7s explored Roses and made bath salts, soaps and propagated their own roses and used mathematics to design packaging. Everyone smiled and had the strength to offer the projects and tested the boundaries of their skills and most importantly realised that learning is fun even when things need to be rethought and replanned. The feeling of pride in creating and presenting cannot be replaced!
