Girls’ Basketball Team Finishes Third at Annual Val Fowler Tournament

Our girls’ basketball team had an outstanding showing at the annual Val Fowler Tournament, hosted in Pietermaritzburg over the holidays.

Taking a mixed team to the tournament, the girls continued to demonstrate just how much they have progressed over the years. Each year, we have seen growth in their confidence, skill, teamwork and competitiveness, and this tournament was another wonderful reflection of that development.

The girls showed tremendous grit and determination throughout the tournament, pushing themselves in every game and refusing to back down. Their hard work saw them progress all the way through to the semi-finals. Although they narrowly missed out on a place in the final, they showed great character by regrouping and competing for third and fourth place.

Their efforts paid off as they secured an impressive third-place finish at this year’s Val Fowler Tournament.

What makes this achievement even more special is the commitment the girls showed by giving up part of their holiday weekend to compete and represent the school. Their willingness to sacrifice their time, work hard and continue challenging themselves is a testament to their dedication to the programme.

We are incredibly proud of how far this group has come and of the continued progression of our girls’ basketball programme. Well done, girls — your grit, commitment and growth continue to make us proud!
