Boarder Eucharist & Blessing of Members of the Board
The Boarders and School community gather for a Sunday morning Eucharist at least once each term. On 16 February we were privileged to include a blessing for members of the Board of Governors. The service was attended by family and friends, members of staff, parents, and students of all ages. The homily included a reflection on the scripture passage from Jeremiah 17: 7-8
“Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in Him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”
We reflected on St Mary’s DSG’s mission to empower young women who will make a difference in the world, on the responsibility that entails, and on the importance of remaining anchored by our faith in all circumstances.
