Our Grade 10 Girls Conquer Big Adventure in the Drakensberg

The Grade 10 girls of St Mary’s DSG recently embarked on their annual Big Adventure Camp in the Drakensberg, a journey designed to challenge and inspire. Over several days, our girls faced unpredictable weather, rugged terrain, and physical endurance challenges, pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones.

Despite the rain and muddy conditions, the Class of 2027 enthusiastically and determinedly tackled mountain hikes, mountain biking, and river paddling. The camp allowed them to develop resilience, teamwork, and independence, shaping them into more confident individuals.

More than just an outdoor excursion, the camp encouraged the students to work together, overcome obstacles, and build lasting friendships. The experience reinforced the values of St Mary’s DSG, highlighting grit, perseverance, and a positive attitude.

Teachers and facilitators guided our girls through reflection and self-discovery, helping them recognise their strengths and abilities. The camp served as a testament to their resilience and spirit, and each participant returned home with a deep sense of accomplishment.

St Mary’s DSG takes great pride in the Class of 2027 for their commitment and courage throughout this journey. The Big Adventure Camp continues to be a defining experience, preparing our girls for the challenges of the future with confidence and determination for future challenges.
